THE IMPACT OF GLOBALGAP STANDARDS ON THE COMPETITIVENESS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLE EXPORT ENTERPRISES IN DON DUONG DISTRICT

This study surveyed 200 fruit and vegetable export enterprises in Don Duong District, Lam Dong Province to assess the impact of the GlobalGAP standard on competitive capacity. The results indicate that GlobalGAP implementation yields significant benefits: average annual revenue increased by VND 6.5 billion, profit margins were 5.2% higher, product quality improved by 8.5%, and export markets expanded considerably. However, there exists a significant gap among enterprises: while 83.3% of large enterprises successfully adopted the standard, only 25% of small enterprises obtained certification—primarily due to cost and technical barriers. To address this issue, the study proposes a comprehensive set of solutions, including state financial support covering 50–70% of certification costs, intensified technical training, the application of blockchain technology, and the development of centralized raw material zones. These findings offer practical implications for the fruit and vegetable sector in Don Duong District and also open up new research directions on the "four-party linkage" model (government, scientists, businesses, and farmers) to scale up the application of international standards
