Abstract

Motivation plays a crucial role in English learning among students. The study aims to identify the factors that influence students' motivation to learn English. A survey was conducted with 320 students from Lac Hong University. With a sample size of n = 300 (valid responses), descriptive statistics, Cronbach’s Alpha reliability test, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed. The results indicate that five factors affect students’ motivation to learn English, including: Attitude towards learning, Teaching staff, Course content, Learning environment, and Teaching methods. Additionally, some management implications are provided in the conclusion to foster motivation for students to learn English.
